When the world moves on, but you can’t.

Grieve well. Live well.

Grief is a lonely, exhausting place. Most of that loneliness comes from other people not knowing what to do with it.

I started GrieveWell because I know how it feels when the world moves on and your grief does not.

If you feel stuck, or you can tell that people expect you to be further along than you are, there is nothing wrong with you. You are grieving.

I do not believe in getting over it. I believe in learning to live alongside it. That is what everything here is built for.

The Person Behind GrieveWell

I'm Matt, a certified grief coach and funeral celebrant who has spent years sitting with people in the hardest moments of their lives.

I came to this work through two paths: my own experience of loss, and the privilege of guiding hundreds of families through farewell ceremonies. When I lost my father, I learned something that has never left me, grief needs space, not solutions. It needs to be felt, honoured, and given room to breathe.

That understanding shapes everything I do at GrieveWell. I'm here to walk alongside you, at your pace, with compassion and without judgment.

How I work

One to one grief coaching

Sometimes grief feels too heavy to carry alone, and too private to share in a room full of people.

Working with me, individually, gives you a calm, private space to look at what you are actually carrying. We go at your pace. There is no script and no timeline.

This tends to suit people whose loss is complicated, or raw, or difficult to say out loud in front of others.

Grief support groups

Isolation is often the hardest part of loss.

My support groups are small and closed, running over six weeks with the same handful of people each time. You get to say the true thing out loud and watch other people nod.

This tends to suit people who are managing, but doing it alone, and are tired of being the only one who still wants to talk about it.

Grief Connection Call

I offer a free call. Just the two of us.

You tell me what is going on. I will be honest with you about what I think might help.

Sometimes that is working with me. Sometimes it is something else entirely, and I will tell you that too. I have had plenty of these calls where the right answer was a GP, or a counsellor, or simply having said the thing out loud to someone for the first time.

There is no pitch at the end of it. Nothing to sign up to.

You do not need to be in crisis. You do not need to know what you want. You do not need a reason beyond wanting to talk to someone who gets it.
